Sublime black-and-white photo sessions

These gorgeous black-and-white pictures come from a series of sessions of sophisticated portraits and candid, stylish shots made by the highly acclaimed European artiste Birgit "Bibsi" Bauer. Note the sublime contrasts, the suggestive chiaroscuros, and the deeply original (and sometimes controversial) vision of the artist. Our daughter deserves nothing less.

Papa's birthday

The other day was my dad's birthday, so mama and me prepared a HUUUGE party for him. Mama baked a delicious cake called "schwarzwaelder kirschtorte" - which doesn't just sound impressive, but also was really quite good... or so they told me, 'cos they didn't let me try it since i'm only li'll, li'll, l'ill...

Our friends Diane, Nina, Anna & Rob came to celebrate with us. Rob's an artist -he made a very nice cartoon of me and my dad. Isn't it cool? Check out my chubby cheeks!

Pumpkins, witches and one very fierce little lion

October brought a series of "firsts" for Maia: her first cold - a rather miserable affair (see the poor little thing here at the left.)

Her first official photo session at school -what a serious cutie, this girl (see right!)

Her first Halloween - she was the village's fiercest, scariest lion on that night (see below!)

And her first gorgeous Hudson Valley Autumn -yellow, orange, red and brown, kind of breezy and cold but beautiful anyway.




It turns out that all of Maia's important events of her life happened this year. It's easy to keep track of things when you're that little (and when your parents run a blog about you.)
