Maia meets London mates

Several friends from London came to see us this month: Natalie and Nick brought baby Rosa for the first time to NYC. Maia and Rosa made friends rather quickly; they played together, giggled a lot and walked around the huge sculptures at Storm King. It was kind of sad to see how much Maia missed Rosa the days after she left. She would come to us pointing towards the door repeating "Roush, Roush!". Touching.

See Maia and Rose rolling down the hill on YouTube!

Then Nico, the notorious Flaco Flores of BBC fame (and blogger extraordinaire) finally decided to drop by NYC to see what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, his jaw dropped. He saw the light. We jumped on one of those funny Circle Line ships at Battery Park and went around the harbor, which, surprisingly, was kind of a cool experience. Definitely something you have to do it once in your lifetime, like any other serious pilgrimage (think Mecca, Santiago de Compostela, CBGB's, etc.)

We also came to the city to celebrate El Dieciocho, Chile's Independence Day on September 18. We met a whole bunch of friends in Central Park and enjoyed delicious pastel de papas, empanadas and vino tinto (this one on the sly, of course... can you drink wine in Central Park? We tried keeping a low profile.)

Here's a whole bunch of fun pictures.
